A happy reunion for Rufus and Inspector Yorick

Thanks to you, Rufus is living life to the full.

It's been eight years since supporters like you helped Inspector Yorick save puppy Rufus from shocking neglect. Inspector Yorick recently visited Rufus in his adopted home and was delighted to see him thriving.

Rufus's dramatic rescue has sayed with Inspector Yorick because it was one of the worst cases of aanimal cruelty had ever seen. The puppy was so unwell he could barely stand.

It was clear to Inspecto Yorick that Rufus needed urgent help. He got him to the RSPCA vet as fast as he could. Because of RSPCA's wonderful team, and the support of animal lovers like you, over the next few months he started to regain his confidence and was soon ready for a new home.

Watch this heartwarming video to see Rufus reunited with Inspector Yorick, and his happy life with adoring parents Joe and Amy.

A "tornado" named Otto

This high energy French bulldog has a safe home, thanks to you

Otto didn’t deserve to be treated like a commodity. He deserved a happy home where he was treated like family. Your support helped make this possible.

The day RSPCA Inspectors found Otto he was confined to a dirty cage, being bred for profit, alongside dozens of other dogs. Thanks to people like you, he’s now in the loving care of Denise and her family, and thriving.

Otto’s adopted family love him with all their heart saying, “our life wouldn’t be complete without him”. They call him their little “tornado” because he’s always bursting with energy and affection.

Your generosity helped set Otto free so he could find a home where he’d be cherished forever. Thank you.

Cape to Coast

Your care and compassion in action across the state.

Bundaberg

Eight-month-old stray cat Freya is one tough kitty. She survived a gunshot to her leg, and a complicated pregnancy.

Thankfully, wonderful kind RSPCA supporters like you made sure we could give Freya expert care – and now she’s healed and ready for a new home.

She’s a sweet young cat that’s full of life, on the lookout for a family to treat her like the true princess she is.

Scenic Rim

Miguel was an orphaned Wallaby Joey being fostered by Willow, a wildlife carer. He was on track to be released, until he got diarrhoea.

Thanks to the generosity of people like you, Miguel could have blood tests at the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital that showed he had a bacterial infection and needed antibiotics urgently.

Your support helps provide facilities, equipment and expertise to treat wildlife like Miguel. Thank you for helping give native animals a second chance in the bush.

When Siberian Husky Pecan was surrendered to the RSPCA after a car accident, he needed surgery urgently. He had a badly broken leg and was in terrible pain, but his owners couldn’t afford treatment for him.

Pecan’s life was saved thanks to the heart-warming generosity of people like you. Your kindness meant Pecan could have surgery, and our vets repaired his leg using a high-tech metal implant.

Pecan's ‘bionic’ leg works beautifully, and he has found his forever home with humans who adore him.

Brisbane

We’re not sure what snack this python thought he was digging into when he swallowed a cat toy in a Brisbane park. But when his stomach couldn’t handle the error, he was brought into our care.

Thanks to you, this curious snake received specialist surgery to move the mistaken lunch through his looooooooooong pipes, and bring him back to health.

The RSPCA is grateful to members of the public for
alerting our Rescue Team to the injured snake, and
to animal lovers like you for making sure we have the resources to help out - however wild the emergency!

Did you see Bubbles at Million Paws Walk?

RSPCA's Million Paws Walk returned last month with great success. Over 3200 people took part with their pooches, and every step taken across the state helped raise over $244,000 to support the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of dogs in need.

Dogs like Bubbles. She’s an overweight gal who was surrendered to the RSPCA with some health issues. Since coming into our care, she’s been put on a special exercise and feeding plan and is being supported to regain her health.

She’s currently in the care of a foster family, but looking for a forever home where she’ll be loved, cared for, and helped to achieve her weight loss goals.

Fundraising events like the Million Paws Walk help raise vital funds for the RSPCA, and awareness about healthy pet care that includes a regime of regular exercise, stimulation and healthy food.

Thank you for helping RSPCA Queensland give dogs, big and small, the love, compassion and healthy lives they deserve.

It's a wild life for the RSPCA QLD team!

When you think about your support in action, what comes to mind? For many people it’s the work we do looking after lost cats or neglected dogs. But you should know the RSPCA’s animal welfare efforts go far beyond the domestic! In fact, our teams are trained and ready to look after all manner of creatures!

When a member of the public alerted the RSPCA to an injured powerful owl near Mt Coot-tha in Brisbane, local wildlife officers sprang into action.

Watch this short video to see how your donations helped this fragile owl get his strength back and then return home.
